How should listings be compared?
Loader, tractor, forklift, trailer and truck tires work under different loads, speeds, surfaces and heat cycles. The sidewall marking identifies dimensions, radial or bias construction, load and speed rating, tread class, tube suitability and approved rim. A similar nominal size does not establish the same application.
How can compatibility be confirmed?
Match the tire to maximum wheel load, speed, cycle distance and surface. Earthmover tires require the correct tread and compound class, agricultural tires must balance traction and soil impact, while forklifts may use pneumatic, resilient or solid designs. On driven axles, rolling circumference must remain within the machine maker’s limits.
What should be compared before buying?
Assess a used tire by date code, tread depth at several points, wear uniformity and repair count. Inspect sidewalls, beads and inner liner for cracking, bulges, exposed cords, overheating and shoulder repairs. Not every type or location of damage on a large OTR tire can be repaired safely.
How should a used or remanufactured part be assessed?
Ask about donor machine and wheel position, surface, typical load, inflation pressure and removal reason. A tire removed after a cut presents a different risk from one retired for even wear. For a pair or set, compare circumference and remaining tread to avoid a mismatch on the axle.
What information should the seller provide?
Request the complete sidewall designation, maker, tread model, date, ratings, TL/TT construction, remaining tread, repairs and inside photographs. Confirm whether rim, tube, flap and freight are included and whether inspection before mounting is possible.
