Define the application before choosing the carrier

Start with the crop, row layout, required working width and application system. A field boom sprayer and a machine intended for orchards or vineyards can use different arrangements for directing liquid and air. Mounting type alone does not establish the machine's application.

Ask for the exact model, year, serial number, working configuration and an inventory of everything included in the price. Consider the nominal tank together with filling and rinsing equipment, pump output in relation to system demand, and working width together with section control and boom guidance. A terminal, receiver, cables, licences, additional nozzle sets or crop-specific equipment may not be included.

Checking a used sprayer

Inspect the tank, pump, filters, agitation, valves, hoses and nozzle bodies for leaks, repairs and deposits. If it has a boom, examine alignment, welds, joints, folding and suspension. Ask for a clean-water test performed in accordance with the manual to assess leaks, the pressure indication, sections and controls. Establish whether manuals, parts support and any inspection records required where the machine will operate are available.
