How should City buses listings be compared?

A city bus is designed for frequent boarding, standing passengers and low average speed. Coaches and intercity buses provide more seating and luggage but usually exchange passengers more slowly.

What actually changes the choice?

Compare total approved capacity, seated and standing places, door width and count, low-floor area and wheelchair space. Vehicle length, turning circle and articulation must suit streets, stops, terminal loops and depot facilities.

Route profile determines power, gearing, cooling and energy use. For an electric bus, check usable battery capacity, state of health, charging connector and a realistic duty cycle with heating or HVAC. A combustion version needs emissions-system assessment under stop-start work.

How should a used vehicle be checked?

Inspect structural corrosion, floor, doors, kneeling system, ramp, air suspension, brakes and steering. Operate heating, HVAC, destination displays, validators and CCTV if included. The road test should include repeated stops and close observation of driveline alarms.

What information should the seller provide?

Request approved capacity and seating plan, unladen mass, axle loads, door count and accessibility records. Obtain route and mileage history and service records for doors, suspension and HVAC. For an electric bus, ask for a battery report, charging standard and included charging equipment.
