How to choose a low-pressure irrigation boom

The boom applies water through several nozzles and commonly works behind a hose-reel irrigator. It is not a control console and does not create pressure by itself.

Specifications to compare

Compatibility: hose-reel model, hose size, coupling, permitted mass and towing arrangement. Application: working width, required flow and pressure, nozzle set and height above the crop.

Transport: folded width, folding and lifting system, supports, wheels or skids and locks. Terrain: ground following, clearance, stability and crop-contact risk.

Used-boom inspection

Check frame straightness, cracks and repairs, hinges, cables, pipes, nozzles, filters and mounting hardware.
Ask for the nozzle chart and pressure test. Uneven output may indicate worn nozzles, blockage, leakage or an incorrectly matched pump.
