How to choose haymaking machinery?
Haymaking is a sequence of different operations, not a single machine type. Define the job and the form in which material must reach the next stage before comparing capacity or price.
Tractor and drive: power, PTO speed, hydraulics, hitch category, lift capacity and ballast. Workflow: working width, swath or windrow dimensions, bale format and compatibility with the next machine.
Transport: weight, folded dimensions, brakes, lighting and road documentation. Included equipment: PTO shaft, terminal, cables, hoses, stands and options stated in the listing.
Inspecting used equipment
Ask for the identification plate, serial number, service history and manual for the exact version. Inspect the working parts, bearings, driveline, hydraulics, frame and guards appropriate to that machine.
Run a test only with all protective equipment in place. Noise, vibration, heat, leaks or irregular movement should be diagnosed before purchase.
