Match a forklift engine by full code, serial, fuel, power, emissions, ancillaries, controls and interfaces. “Fits this make” is not enough.

How should Forklift engines listings be compared?
A listing may be a short block, long block or complete assembly with injection, turbo, loom and ECU. The same base engine across generations may use different mounts, sump, manifolds, sensors and calibration.
What actually changes the choice?
Identity: maker, code, serial, power variant and emissions level; scope: block/head or full ancillaries, starter, alternator, cooling and exhaust; interface: mounts, flywheel, transmission, sump, intake and wiring; control: pump/injectors, ECU, loom, immobiliser and calibration; condition: hours, compression, oil pressure, blow-by, fluids and repair history
Part number and machine data take priority over visual similarity. Versions may differ in dimensions, connection, direction, material or calibration despite sharing a trade name.
How should a used item be checked?
Demand a cold-start video, operation from idle to load, compression or leak-down values, cold/hot oil pressure and blow-by assessment. Check smoke, leakage, cooling-system pressure, fluid analysis, fault codes and controller identities. A removed engine needs a bench run; fresh paint and hand rotation do not define wear.
What information should the seller provide?
Send old-engine and truck plates and photographs of mounts, flywheel, sump, manifolds, loom and ECU. Request exact supply scope, hours and origin, videos and compression, oil and cooling results, fault codes, rebuild scope with measurements/parts, required programming and start-up warranty.
