How to compare listings
Begin with the product that must leave the field. Clean grain in a tank, chopped forage discharged into a trailer, lifted roots, onions left in a windrow, vined green peas and a cotton module require different working systems. Engine power, working width and price therefore cannot be compared across the entire harvesting branch.
Start with the crop and variety, row spacing and the way the field was established. Then define the required output and where it must go: a grain tank, unloading conveyor, trailer travelling alongside, field windrow or an onboard module. The correct child category contains the criteria for that exact harvesting process.
Only within one machine class should you compare width or row count, crop-flow capacity, tank size, unloading arrangement, transport dimensions and running gear. Confirm which headers, intake units, control terminals and crop-specific equipment are included in the price.
How to inspect a used machine
On a used machine, follow the complete crop path from the header, pickup or lifting unit to the tank or discharge. Inspect knives, concaves, sieves, conveyors, webs, rollers, chains and bearings according to the actual design. Check the driveline, hydraulics, chassis, tyres or tracks and any frame repairs separately. A demonstration should use all guards and follow the manual.
What to ask the seller
Ask for make, model, serial number, year, engine and separator hours where recorded, service history and known faults. The seller should identify the crop configuration, included headers, row spacing, transport dimensions and available documents. Photographs of the full crop-flow system are more informative than cab and bodywork images alone.
