How should listings be compared?
A cooling pack may contain separate heat exchangers for engine coolant, hydraulic oil, transmission oil, fuel, air conditioning and charge air. Frame design, exchanger order, hose positions and fan arrangement can change within one machine model. A useful listing must therefore identify the exact circuit and configuration.
How can compatibility be confirmed?
In addition to the part number, compare core height, width and thickness, port diameters and positions, mountings, cap and working pressure. For a water pump, check pulley, rotation and seal design. A thermostat also has a specified opening temperature and housing type, while a fan requires diameter, blade count and the correct clutch or drive.
What should be compared before buying?
Inspect a used radiator for bent fins, brazed repairs, corrosion where the core meets the tank and traces of oil. Ask for a pressure-test result with the test value and medium. External washing of an oil cooler does not demonstrate that internal passages are clean after another component has failed.
How should a used or remanufactured part be assessed?
On a pump or fan, check bearing play, witness-hole leakage, damaged blades and the condition of a viscous clutch, electric or hydraulic drive. Overheating has several possible causes, so buying a heat exchanger without diagnosing flow, thermostat and fan control may leave the original fault unresolved.
What information should the seller provide?
Ask for part number, donor model and serial number, circuit served, dimensions, material and every port location, plus the frame parts included. For a used component, request photographs before cleaning, the leak-test record and a clear explanation of why it was removed.
