How should a used item be checked?
Before buying a used part, request photographs of markings and working surfaces, not only a stock image. Depending on the component, measurements, leak testing, electrical or pressure testing, or clearance checks are needed. Heat marks, connector corrosion, welds and machined seats can reveal repairs that alter fit. Safety-related parts require traceable origin and suitable assessment.
What information should the seller provide?
Send the truck and old-part numbers plus photographs of the plate, connectors and mounting dimensions. Request the maker’s reference, compatible variants, exact condition, test or rebuild report, every included item and the return terms if identification proves incorrect.
