Define the complete tanker configuration
A listing may cover a tanker with a basic outlet or a combination fitted with a filling arm, boom or injector. Ask for an exact inventory of the equipment included in the price and confirm which liquids the manufacturer permits for that version.
Main specifications to compare
Tank and running gear: capacity, permitted payload and masses, axles, tyres, brakes, drawbar, suspension and steering axles where fitted. Pumping system: pump type and drive, protection from foreign material, filling, agitation and emptying arrangements. Pump systems do not all fill and discharge in the same way.
Application equipment: basic spreader, dribble-bar boom, trailing-shoe implement or injector; confirm mounting, supply, folding and the working width of the advertised configuration. Tractor compatibility: hitch, PTO, hydraulics, electrical supply, brakes, flow requirements and terminal compatibility.
Inspecting a used slurry tanker
Examine the tank, frame and drawbar for corrosion, distortion, repairs and leakage. Check hoses, valves, slides, gauges, pump components, the PTO shaft and guards. Assess play in the hitch and axles and the condition of tyres, brakes and suspension. Ask how the tank was cleaned, how the pump was maintained and whether the tank has been repaired. Do not open or enter the tank during a viewing; the seller should demonstrate functions in accordance with the manual.
