How should LPG forklifts listings be compared?
LPG combines rapid refuelling with an internal-combustion truck, but it is not automatically suitable for every building. Site conditions, emissions, outdoor work, shifts and energy infrastructure determine the choice between LPG, diesel and electric.
What actually changes the choice?
Capacity: plate ratings for mast, load centre and attachment; LPG system: cylinder or tank, valve, regulator, hoses and certification; environment: ventilation, temperature, work zones and outdoor share; operation: cylinder exchange, fuel storage and downtime; chassis: tyres, clearance, width, collapsed mast and doors
A headline model rating does not describe the whole truck. Capacity, height, load centre, attachment, tyres or battery must match the data plate and the actual build.
How should a used item be checked?
Carry out a cold start at idle and while changing direction. Check odour or leak evidence, hose condition, cylinder restraint, regulator, shut-off and fuel switching where fitted. Once warm assess engine response under load, transmission, temperatures, brakes and mast hydraulics. Verify tank dates and approvals from documents rather than a verbal assurance.
What information should the seller provide?
Request photographs of the truck and LPG-system plates, engine model, tank type, test dates, regulator and hose history, emissions or service report and cold-start video. Require mast type, capacity chart, tyres, attachment and confirmation whether the cylinder or tank is included.
