How should listings be compared?
A rim carries machine mass, drive torque and side loads, so visual similarity is not enough. Diameter and width matter together with rim contour, one- or multi-piece construction, hole count and diameter, centre bore, offset, mounting face and permissible load.
How can compatibility be confirmed?
Cross-check axle and tire documentation. Record rim designation, PCD, stud diameter, hub- or stud-centred mounting, offset and clearance for the caliper or final drive. Multi-piece rim rings must belong to the same approved system. Dual wheels also require compatible mounting faces and sufficient stud length.
What should be compared before buying?
Clean contact areas on a used rim and inspect for cracks around holes, elongated seats, bead-seat corrosion, run-out and repair welding. The locking ring on a split rim is safety-critical. Run-out measurement and non-destructive inspection of suspicious welds provide better evidence than a new coating.
How should a used or remanufactured part be assessed?
For a complete wheel, verify tire age and condition, valve, tube or flap, tread direction and load rating. Different rolling circumferences on one axle or between driven axles can stress the differential. Clarify whether the price is for one item, a pair or a full set.
What information should the seller provide?
Ask for rim markings, size, PCD, centre bore, offset, load rating, donor machine and photographs of both sides. The seller should disclose welding, straightening and corrosion and list nuts, rings or spacers included. Large-wheel freight needs a separate arrangement.
