Start with the process and load unit, then separate purchases of racking, identification, transport, sorting, AS/RS and WMS. They are different layers of one warehouse.

How should Warehouse equipment and systems listings be compared?
Physical equipment, automation and software must work together but are not interchangeable offers. Racking stores, a conveyor moves, a sorter routes, a scanner identifies, AS/RS stores and retrieves, and WMS manages tasks and inventory.
Material profile: units, dimensions, masses, stability and identifiers; processes: receipt, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing and dispatch; flow: average, peak, buffer and required availability; building: layout, height, floor, fire strategy and service access; control: PLC/WCS/WMS/ERP, scanners, interfaces, master data and integrator responsibility
Do not compare prices across different product classes. Map the listing to the right process and subcategory first, then compare specifications, condition and commissioning cost.
How should a used item be checked?
For a used system, assess more than mechanical modules. Check as-built documentation, equipment and parts lists, electrical diagrams, program backups, controller versions, licences, service accounts and maker support. Measure drive and roller wear, inspect structures and run representative load units. Missing code or licences can reduce an installation to spare parts.
What information should the seller provide?
Prepare SKU and load-unit data, hourly and peak volumes, exceptions, required availability and interfaces. Request supply boundaries, design and integration responsibility, utilities, installation plan, acceptance criteria, documentation, critical spares, service level and licence costs.
