A three-wheel layout can improve manoeuvrability indoors, but it must be compared with a four-wheel electric truck for the actual load and floor. The name describes the wheel layout, not the power source or a guaranteed aisle width.
What actually changes the choice?
Manoeuvring: Ast with the actual pallet, turning radius, swing and chassis width; stability: capacity at height, load centre, sideshift and floor condition; mast: free lift, collapsed height, stages and visibility; steering: single or twin rear wheel, steering angle and wear; energy: battery weight, voltage and condition plus a compatible charger
A headline model rating does not describe the whole truck. Capacity, height, load centre, attachment, tyres or battery must match the data plate and the actual build.
How should a used item be checked?
Measure a turn in the intended layout rather than relying on a catalogue radius without a pallet. Check play and condition in the rear steer assembly, tyres, bearings, braking and reversing. Perform a loaded lift while observing tilt, mast rollers and sideshift. The battery report and required weight range must match the plate.
What information should the seller provide?
State pallet dimensions, load centre, maximum mass, height and narrowest aisle. Request Ast for that build, the full capacity table, mast type, rear-wheel layout, width, tyres, battery and charger data, meter readings and steering-repair history.
