How should Sideloaders listings be compared?
A sideloader carries long material along the travel axis, reducing manoeuvring width compared with carrying it crosswise. It is not simply a counterbalance truck turned sideways: deck, load guidance and visibility create a distinct configuration.
What actually changes the choice?
Load: length, mass, deflection, support points and centre of gravity; deck: length, width, height, stakes and supports; mast and forks: reach, residual capacity, spacing and lateral positioning; route: width, intersections, radii, doors and block storage; chassis: drive, tyres, clearance, axles and indoor or outdoor guidance
A headline model rating does not describe the whole truck. Capacity, height, load centre, attachment, tyres or battery must match the data plate and the actual build.
How should a used item be checked?
A test without a long load does not reveal deck behaviour. Check the mast while picking and placing, smooth extension and return, rollers, guides and hoses. With a load of similar length assess deflection, support, visibility, steering and braking. Inspect deck frame, stakes, welds, axles and tyres; uneven wear may indicate overload or alignment issues.
What information should the seller provide?
State material length, section and mass, storage method, widest intersection and narrowest route. Request dimension drawings of truck and deck, capacity table, fork spacing, guidance type, tyres, drive, transport mass, meter and the service history of mast, axles and frame repairs.
