Match the equipment to the job first
A plough moves fresh or packed snow aside and is the primary tool for restoring access. A snow blower suits high banks, restricted corridors and controlled discharge. A spreader meters de-icing or abrasive material and determines the surface treatment delivered after the pass.
Start with lane width, road class, response time, typical snowfall and available snow-storage space. Then verify mounting, implement mass, axle loads, hydraulic flow, PTO, electrical installation, controller and work lighting.
Operating value depends on more than working width. Transport width, trip protection, cutting-edge material, dose calibration, corrosion resistance and changeover time all matter. Equipment exposed to salt should have credible cleaning and preservation records.
