A scissor lift raises its platform primarily vertically. The useful platform area, route to the work position and allowable floor load are just as important as height.
Key specifications
Height: distinguish platform height from working height and establish whether a deck extension is required.
Platform: rated capacity, permitted occupants, extended dimensions and the weight of tools and materials.
Access: stowed width and height, turning radius, machine weight, wheel loads and clearance through doors or lifts.
Site: level slab or rough terrain, tyres, ground clearance, axle drive, outriggers and the model-specific slope limits.
Power: batteries and charger, combustion engine or hybrid system, considered with the rules of the work area.
Inspecting a used machine
Inspect the scissor stack, pins, bushes, welds, cylinders, hoses, leaks and signs of overload. Check the platform, extension, gate and guardrails.
