How do you choose a vertical mast lift?

This is a compact platform guided vertically on a mast, commonly used where access is narrow. It is not the long façade platform that climbs one or two installed masts.

What should you check before buying?

Height: platform and working height and, where fitted, the range of a small jib or deck extension.
Platform: capacity, occupants, dimensions, gate and space for tools.
Access: stowed width, length and height, weight, floor loading, turning radius and clearance through doors or lifts.
Drive: travel and steering, wheel type, batteries, charger, charge time and mains-voltage compatibility.
Transport: tie-down points, loading method, permitted transport position and the weight of the actual version.

Inspecting a used machine

Inspect mast sections and guides, rollers, chains or ropes, cylinder and leaks according to the model design.
Check the platform, gate, guardrails, ground and platform controls, travel, brakes, emergency functions and legibility of labels.
Verify batteries and charger, wheels, meter, serial number, manual and records of service and required inspections.
