How do you choose a screening plant?

A screening plant does not crush material; it separates it by particle size. First decide whether the job calls for heavy-duty scalping of raw feed or more precise classification of a processed product.

Decks, media and fractions

Number of decks, deck dimensions and total screening area, plus the number of product fractions that can be discharged.
Wire mesh, perforated plate, polyurethane or finger media selected for the material and desired cut point.
Aperture sizes, tensioning and change procedure, and whether the offer includes a conveyor for every fraction.

Material and throughput

Maximum feed size and gradation, moisture, clay and fines content, and particle shape.
Motion type, screen angle and amplitude, as well as even distribution across the full deck width.
Capacity stated for comparable material, feed method, discharge height, conveyor arrangement and integration with a crusher.

Buying a used screening plant

Inspect the frame and screen box for cracks, then check mounts, springs, shafts, exciters, bearings, drive and operating temperatures. Assess the screen media, belts, rollers, scrapers, hydraulics and chassis. Ask for a loaded video and a precise list of included decks and conveyors.
