How do you choose a crusher or screening plant?
Start with a representative sample or a reliable material description, the largest feed size and the fractions you need to produce. Motor power or a catalogue capacity alone cannot describe the entire process.
Open the right category
Jaw crushers — commonly used for primary crushing; compare the feed opening, maximum feed size and closed-side setting.
Impact crushers — identify HSI or VSI construction, the rotor and wear parts, and check material abrasiveness.
Cone crushers — commonly used in secondary or tertiary stages; chamber profile, CSS and a stable feed matter.
Mobile crushers — may use a jaw, impact or cone chamber; also compare transport data and the complete plant configuration.
Screening plants — separate rather than crush material; compare decks, screen media and discharge conveyors.
Information needed for comparison
Material type, hardness, abrasiveness and moisture, including clay, reinforcement steel or other contaminants.
Maximum feed size and gradation, required product fractions, target throughput and the planned method of feeding.

How should a used plant be inspected?
Ask for the serial number, exact configuration, engine and crushing hours, service history and wear measurements. Inspect the chamber, wear parts, bearings, hydraulics, feeders, screens and conveyors. Verify output using the intended material and settings rather than treating a brochure figure as a guarantee.
