How to choose a grain crusher?

Start with crop type, moisture and the following mixing process. A throughput figure is meaningful only with its test conditions.

What to compare

Technology: two- or three-roller crusher, or hammer mill with replaceable screens. Output: roller-gap or screen options, expected particle structure and fines.

Capacity: kg/h or t/h for a stated grain, moisture, screen and motor power. Installation: power supply, protection, intake, discharge, magnet, dust extraction and service space.

Integration: compatibility with conveyors, mixers, scales and controls.

Used-equipment checks

Inspect roller grooves and alignment or hammers, rotor and screens; check bearings, drive, couplings, housing, gates and electrics.
A test with the intended grain should show product structure, stable load, vibration, bearing temperature and dust-control performance.
