Powertrain and Design

The Volvo SD130 is a 12.785 t compactor designed for effective material compaction. It features a 119 kW engine, providing the necessary power for operation in challenging conditions. The combination of high centrifugal force and heavy drum weight facilitates achieving target material density in fewer passes. The hydrostatic drive system enables precise control of the machine.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

The SD130 exhibits excellent traction capabilities, vital for working on steep inclines or slippery surfaces. The undercarriage features dual planetary drive motors and a No-Spin® differential, minimizing wheel slippage. The machine can adapt to various soil types with adjustable vibration frequency controlled from the operator's cabin.

Operating Parameters

Dimensions of the roller are 5,895 mm in length, 2,286 mm in width, and 3,091 mm in height. The drum has a diameter of 1.5 m with a nominal amplitude of 1.9 mm. At a maximum vibration frequency of 31.2 Hz, the roller achieves a high centrifugal force of 281 kN. The static weight on the drum is 7,573 kg for the smooth drum variant.

Optional Equipment

The Volvo SD130 can be easily converted from a smooth drum to a padfoot drum, increasing its versatility. It is available with options such as Auto vibe package and Compaction Analyzer. The ECO mode allows operators to significantly reduce fuel consumption and emissions without compromising compaction performance.

Safety and Technical Data

The machine ensures 360° visibility, enhancing operational safety. The cab is ROPS/FOPS certified, ensuring maximum operator safety. Key technical parameters include noise level of 80 dB(A) for the operator and a fuel tank capacity of 257 l. The roller also boasts a theoretical gradeability of up to 65%.
