Powertrain and Design

The VOLVO EW160E and EW180E wheeled excavators feature a robust powertrain, equipped with a VOLVO D6J diesel engine ranging from 112 kW (150 hp) to 129 kW (173 hp). With high combustion efficiency and advanced power technology, these machines comply with Tier 4 Final emissions regulations. They are also fitted with hydraulically elevated cabs, enhancing operator visibility on the job site.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

Both models utilize a closed-centre hydraulic system with load-sensing capabilities and pressure compensation. This design optimizes energy efficiency and provides accurate machine control. The undercarriage includes a 3-speed drive system, allowing speed adjustment based on terrain conditions. Additionally, the EW160E features an automatic greasing system for enhanced maintenance efficiency.

Operating Parameters

The maximum dump height reaches 6,520 mm, facilitating work in challenging environments. The 5.0 m mono boom and 2.0 m dipper arm achieve a maximum reach of up to 8,720 mm. The breakout force for a 1,000 l (264 gal) bucket reaches 136 kN (30,574 lbf) when fully lubricated, ensuring effective digging performance.

VOLVO offers a wide range of customization options, including additional accessories such as efficient hydraulic systems for tools, providing highly tailored solutions for various applications. Optional features include engine heaters, side cameras, and various bucket types catering to different job requirements.

Safety and Technical Data

The cab design adheres to ROPS guidelines, ensuring operator safety in challenging conditions. The machines are also equipped with monitoring systems that enable real-time performance tracking. The noise level inside the cab does not exceed 70 dB(A), contributing positively to the operator's comfort during operation.
