Powertrain and Design

The mobile excavator TW160, weighing 16.0 - 16.5 t, features a Deutz TCD2012L062V engine with an output of 105 kW (141 hp), operating at a maximum speed of 2000/min. It is equipped with a turbocharger and a liquid cooling system, ensuring efficiency and reliability in challenging work conditions. The engine has a displacement of 6057 cm3 and a total of 6 cylinders, providing solid power and performance. Comfort features, such as an air-suspended heated driver’s seat, enhance the ergonomics for the operator.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

The lower wagon is fitted with special excavator axles rated for 28 t, along with an automatic swing axle blocking, ensuring stability and maneuverability. The AWE 5 hydraulic system detects loads, allowing for efficient management of piston pump outputs. The system also offers various operating modes, including Fine, Eco, and Power, optimizing fuel savings and operational precision. Pre-fill valves and overload protection contribute to increased safety and efficiency in hydraulic operations.

Operating Parameters

The maximum operating pressure in the hydraulic system is 360 bar, and the maximum oil flow can reach 260 l/min. The TW160 excavator provides versatility with the capability to connect additional hydraulic circuits. Additionally, the unit can reach speeds up to 20 km/h on road and 5 km/h in rough terrain.
