Powertrain and Design

The Mining Excavator R 9400 is powered by a Cummins diesel engine with an output of 1,250 kW (1,675 HP) at 1,800 rpm. It features a 16-cylinder turbocharged V-engine with two separate water cooling circuits. With a displacement of 50 l, the machine offers efficient fuel management and high operational power.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

The R 9400 is equipped with four variable displacement axial piston pumps, each capable of a maximum flow of 751 l/min. The maximum hydraulic pressure is 320 bar. When loaded, the machine has an operating weight of 345,500 kg with a backhoe attachment, making it suitable for heavy-duty mining operations.

Operating Parameters

With a load of the backhoe attachment at 22.00 m3, the operating weight is 345,500 kg with a ground pressure of 2.60 kg/cm2 (36.98 psi). The bucket capacity ranges from 18.00 to 24.00 m3 for the backhoe and shovel attachments. The maximum digging force is 1,000 kN (224,809 lbf) and the maximum breakout force is 1,050 kN (236,049 lbf).

Optional Equipment

The machine can optionally be equipped with an electric motor with a power output of 1,350 kW. Additionally, the R 9400 supports various bucket types tailored for materials classified as GP, HD, and XHD. It comes standard with a hydraulically operated service flap and a Lincoln Centromatic central lubrication system.

Safety and Technical Data

The operator's cab meets FOPS standards, providing protection against falling objects. The noise level inside the cab is 77 dB(A). Built-in monitoring systems and automatic engine shutdown enhance operational safety. The machine features a robust design for high durability and reliability.
