Powertrain and Design
The Liebherr L 550 is a modern wheel loader designed for maximum efficiency. It features a hydrostatic driveline that allows for fuel consumption reductions of up to 25% when compared to conventional drive systems. The diesel engine, with an output of 129 kW, is mounted transversely to the direction of travel, ensuring optimal weight distribution and improved stability during operation.
Undercarriage and Hydraulics
The L 550’s undercarriage is equipped with a hydrostatic drive, enabling smooth transitions between different speeds without interrupting traction. The built-in traction control system prevents wheel slips, significantly reducing tire wear. The working hydraulics adapt to working conditions, enhancing the loader’s efficiency and flexibility.
Operating Parameters
The L 550 features an articulated tipping load of 12,150 kg and a bucket capacity of 3.2 m³. Its operating weight is 17,300 kg, facilitating effective material handling in challenging conditions. The engine generates a torque of 843 Nm, supporting high productivity during operation.
