Powertrain and Design

The machine is powered by a Cummins KTTA38-C diesel engine with a rated output of 2,250 hp (1630 kW). The engine consists of 12 cylinders with a bore and stroke of 6.25" (159 mm) and a displacement of 2,300 in³ (38.0 L). This machine incorporates an electronic governor and turbocharging, which enhances its efficiency under challenging working conditions.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

The undercarriage of the machine is fully hydrostatic, achieving a maximum speed of 1.4 mph (2.3 km/h). It is equipped with six hydraulic pumps that supply hydraulic oil from a pressurized tank. The open-circuit hydraulics provide maximum cooling and filtering efficiency, with a working pressure of up to 4,495 psi (310 bar).

Operating Parameters

This machine offers various operating parameters, including a shovel digging force of 360,000 lb and a backfill force of 382,000 lb. The bucket capacity ranges from 33.0 yd³ to 39.6 yd³ depending on the slope. The total weight of the machine is 798,200 lb (362 t) without attachments, allowing for efficient loading and moving in mining applications.

Optional Equipment

The machine can be outfitted with a variety of accessories and options such as the ECS monitoring system, Lincoln autolube system, and FOPS equipment. Additionally, various bucket and stick configurations are available to customize the machine for specific operational needs.
