Powertrain and Design

The JD644 is a loader designed to handle tough tasks with ease, featuring a turbocharged Diesel engine generating 131 net flywheel horsepower. Power is delivered through a twin-turbine torque converter linked to a 4-speed Power Shift transmission, allowing for efficient handling of heavy loads. Its robust design helps maintain balance and stability during operation, while reducing stress on the machine's components.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

The JD644 is equipped with a full hydraulic system powered by two distinct pumps for loader functions and steering. Articulated steering enables precise maneuverability, achieving a tight turning radius of just 15 ft 4 in, making it suitable for confined workspaces. The planetary drive axles on all four wheels enhance load-moving leverage and reduce strain on the drivetrain.

Operating Parameters

The loader has a lifting capacity of up to 12,500 lb and a breakout force of 32,000 lb. Lifting time is recorded at 6 seconds, with a lowering time of 5.5 seconds. The hydraulic efficiency ensures quick work cycles, contributing to increased operational efficiency.
