Powertrain and Design

The Jenz HEM 581 DL machine is expertly constructed, featuring a longitudinal intake. It is designed for the chipping of whole trees up to 560 mm in diameter, as well as forest residues and cut shrubbery. The robust steel-link conveyor and the 3.5 m long intake facilitate the loading of bulky wood waste and logs. The upper intake rollers are driven by low-maintenance internal gearboxes, eliminating time-consuming cleaning tasks.

Working System and Hydraulics

Efficient operation on busy roads and over large areas is ensured by a reliable collecting system for spill-over material. The reduced speed in VARIO mode provides an optimal balance between chip output and fuel consumption, contributing to cost efficiency. The easygreen control system makes tasks comfortable and efficient.

Operating Parameters

The HEM 581 DL features an 820 mm rotor diameter and 12 knives, with an option for 24 knives. Its throughput rate is up to 170 m³/h, and the intake opening measures 680 x approximately 1200 mm. The main drive is a Mercedes Benz engine with 375 kW (510 hp). The basic model weighs 17,500 kg.

Optional Equipment

Various types of builds for the machine are possible to guarantee the best chipping performance. These options include a rigid drawbar trailer or a semi-trailer with a tandem axle, and a fixed structure on a three- or four-axle lorry. There is also a “Tiger” model with a track roller unit designed for extreme terrain conditions.
