Powertrain and Design

The JCB BACKHOE LOADER 4CX features a heavy-duty one-piece mainframe and a componentized driveline. Its fully enclosed engine compartment and fluid chambers provide enhanced security and ease of maintenance access. All compartments are lockable with the ignition key, increasing protection. The 4.4-liter Diesel engine offers optimal performance while complying with EPA Tier III emissions standards.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

The JCB 4CX features an advanced hydrostatic steering system that maintains emergency steering in the event of engine failure. The machine is equipped with three steering modes, including front wheel steering and crab steer. Its hydraulic system, utilizing dual gear pumps, efficiently powers the loader, backhoe, and steering systems, benefiting overall machine efficiency.

Operating Parameters

Depending on the model, the 4CX machines offer various operating parameters. For instance, the 4CX 14FT has an operating weight of 16,446 lb (7462 kg), while the 4CX 17FT reaches 17,782 lb (8068 kg). Transport dimensions for this machine reach up to 24-6 ft (7.47 m) in transport length and 12-10 ft (3.91 m) in height with Extradig options. Lift capacity to full height is 10,225 lb (4638 kg).

Optional Equipment

The machine can be equipped with varying attachments, including additional buckets, pallet forks, and the optional Smooth Ride system for a smoother ride. Furthermore, the 4CX offers the capacity to utilize various working buckets, such as the 6-in-1 bucket, significantly enhancing its functionality. The optional JCB Easycontrol kit allows for precise machine operation, reducing operator fatigue.

Safety and Technical Data

The machine meets SAE ROPS/FOPS requirements, ensuring operational safety. Various warning systems and reliable multi-plate brakes provide safe stopping.
