Powertrain and Design

The Hitachi EX5600-6 is powered by two Cummins QSKTA50-CE engines, producing a gross power of 2 x 1,119 kW (2 x 1,500 HP). These engines comply with U.S. EPA Tier 2 emission regulations. The innovative E-P Control system optimally adjusts engine and hydraulic output based on load demands.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

This machine features 12 variable-displacement axial piston pumps that ensure high hydraulic performance. It allows a maximum oil flow of 8 x 375 L/min and 4 x 425 L/min, operating at a pressure of 29.4 MPa (300 kgf/cm²). The undercarriage provides a maximum traction force of 2,230 kN (227,000 kgf).

Operating Parameters

The operating weight of the machine is 537,000 kg for the backhoe and 533,000 kg for the loading shovel. The backhoe bucket capacity is 34.0 m³, while the loading shovel bucket capacity is 27.0 m³. The maximum digging force of the backhoe bucket is 1,480 kN (151,000 kgf) and for the loading shovel is 1,590 kN (162,000 kgf).

Optional Equipment

The Hitachi EX5600-6 offers various optional equipment to suit specific user requirements. These may include cameras for enhanced visibility around the machine and various attachments to increase work efficiency.

Safety and Technical Data

The cab height of 7.64 m provides excellent visibility during operation. Alarm systems monitor machine conditions, alerting the operator to any potential faults. Operator safety is ensured by the Operator Protective Guard (OPG), and the rigid box frame design ensures resistance to bending and twisting forces.
