EX17U - Product Description

Powertrain and Design

The EX17U is the smallest ultra-short radius mini excavator offered by Hitachi in the Western Hemisphere. Equipped with an Isuzu 3YB1 engine, it delivers 12.3 hp (9.2 kW) at 2300 rpm. This model is designed for high reliability and performance relative to its size.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

It features standard 230 mm rubber shoes and a four-pillar cab for enhanced operator comfort. The hydraulic system allows for precise control via pilot control levers for the boom, arm, and bucket. Additionally, cushioning mechanisms are integrated into the hydraulic cylinders.

Operating Parameters

The maximum digging reach is 12' 9.5" (3,900 mm), with a maximum digging depth of 5' 9" (1,750 mm). It achieves a maximum dumping height of 11' 0" (3,350 mm) and maximum breakout force of 3,329 lbf (1,510 kgf). The maximum swing speed is 8.6 rpm.

Optional Equipment

There is an option for steel tracks instead of rubber shoes, as well as an enclosed cab. The standard equipment includes a swinging boom and a dozer blade, enhancing its versatility in various applications.

Safety and Technical Data

The EX17U is equipped with safety systems to protect the operator. The four-pillar cab construction and reinforced structural elements ensure a high level of safety in operational areas.
