Michigan Tractor Shovel - Product Description

Powertrain and Design

The new line of Michigan shovels, known as Series II, features enhanced production capabilities. It retains a proven design while being upgraded for efficiency and productivity. The new model includes a more powerful engine and better-matched drive components, contributing to improved operational performance. These machines have a long-standing reputation for reliability over years of intensive usage. For instance, the first model in this series has operated for over 19,000 hours and continues to function effectively.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

The new Michigan shovels bring enhanced digging power due to larger hydraulic cylinders, improving efficiency in the toughest conditions. The machine also features double-acting hydraulic cylinders that provide better steering control over any terrain. High clearance and a long wheelbase ensure stable operation even in difficult environments. Additionally, innovative design enhances the convenience of hydraulic operation.

Operating Parameters

The Series II includes several models with varying operational parameters, all providing increased capacity. For example, model 554 can operate with a load of up to 3,500 lbs and offers a maximum dumping height of 86 inches. Other models, such as the 125A, can handle loads up to 8,250 lbs with a dumping height of 10 feet, while the largest model 2754 can manage 16,500 lbs with a maximum dumping height of 12 feet 2 inches. The digging force is also improved.

Optional Equipment

The Series II Michigan shovels are available with various optional equipment that can be tailored to the user's specific needs. They allow for the use of different bucket types and hydraulic accessories, enhancing the machine's versatility. Additionally, various spare parts and accessories are offered for easy servicing and repairs. Optional features, such as an automatic bucket leveler, increase operational efficiency.

Safety and Technical Data

The new Michigan shovels are designed with user safety in mind. They feature increased durability thanks to a reinforced frame and the use of special seals that protect critical joint points. The braking system automatically declutches the drive, enhancing hydraulic performance during braking. The machines comply with SAE standards regarding rated loads and engine revolutions.
