Cat 440 – Product Description

Powertrain and Design

The Cat 440 Backhoe Loader is equipped with a Cat C4.4 ACERT™ engine rated at 87 kW (116 hp). This engine meets U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final/EU Stage IV emission standards through Selective Catalytic Reduction technology with a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst. Efficient hydraulics and an optimized loader and backhoe design enhance lifting capacity and breakout forces.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

The machine features an advanced hydraulic system with a variable flow piston pump that delivers full lifting and digging forces at any engine speed. The Variable Speed Steer reduces operator fatigue by allowing reduced steering wheel rotations. The hydraulic control system facilitates flow adjustment that matches attachment specifications.

Operating Parameters

The Cat 440 has a maximum operating weight of 13,300 kg and can lift up to 3,983 kg at maximum height. It allows digging depths up to 4,718 mm and boasts a maximum reach of 7,462 mm at ground line. The specifications also include options for 1.34 m³ (1.75 yd³) GP and 1.53 m³ (2.0 yd³) MP HD buckets.

Optional Equipment

The machine can be equipped with a variety of attachments, including hydraulic and mechanical quick couplers. It can also include optional tool quick connect systems and various accessories like buckets, hammers, or augers. Various comfort and customization features are available for the operator.
