Cat 428D - Product Description

Powertrain and Design

The Cat 428D is equipped with a Caterpillar 3054C T Turbo Diesel engine providing 61 kW of power. An optional variant with 73 kW is also available. The engine complies with Stage II emission standards according to the EU directive 97/68/EC. The gear-driven water pump employed offers high durability and low operating costs through a single fuel filter unit.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

The 428D features a hydraulic system with a working pressure of 228 bar, utilizing XT hoses and O-ring face seal fittings. This system delivers maximum hydraulic power at any engine speed and provides fuel efficiency. The machine comes standard with all-wheel drive (AWD) for enhanced maneuverability.

Operating Parameters

The Cat 428D achieves a maximum digging depth of 4854 mm with a standard stick and 5894 mm with an extendable stick. Loading efficiency and breakout force are optimized through its design suited for heavy-duty applications. The operational weight is 7738 kg.

Optional Equipment

The machine is available in standard and deluxe cab configurations, which provide additional comfort features. Optional equipment includes an auto-shift transmission as well as a variety of buckets with different capacities and applications. A mechanical quick coupler can also be fitted for quick tool changes.

Safety and Technical Data

The Cat 428D meets ROPS and FOPS standards, enhancing safety during operation. The cab incorporates sound-dampening materials, limiting noise to 78 dB(A). Additional monitoring systems and anti-theft features can be added for enhanced security.
