Powertrain and Design

The Cat 420E/420E IT is powered by the Cat® C4.4 ACERT® DIT engine, providing a gross power of 75 kW (101 hp) at 2200 rpm and a net power of 69 kW (93 hp) at 2200 rpm. Its design allows efficient task execution, featuring an ergonomic operator station and pilot-operated joysticks with low effort. An optional extendable stick increases digging reach and depth, making it a versatile tool for various construction applications.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

The hydraulic system of the 420E/420E IT employs a closed, load-sensing system that optimally matches power and flow to implement demands. With a top travel speed of 40 km/h, it facilitates quicker movement between job sites. The optional Ride Control system enhances ride comfort, reducing vibrations, therefore increasing operational efficiency.

Operating Parameters

The machine’s nominal operating weight is 6895 kg, with a maximum weight of 11000 kg. The standard digging depth is 4360 mm, which extends to 5456 mm using the extendable stick.
