Powertrain and Design
The Caterpillar 2248 machine is equipped with the Cat 3116 diesel engine, turbocharged, providing 101 kW (135 HP) of power. The engine design ensures reliability and fuel efficiency. With reversed connection, the engine does not require derating at elevations up to 3800 m. The hydrostatic drive system with four-wheel drive allows for precise maneuverability in challenging terrain conditions.
Undercarriage and Hydraulics
This machine features a single-pump hydraulic system that powers the control, travel, and swing functions. This allows for simultaneous operation of all functions, significantly reducing cycle times. The load-sensing hydraulic system adjusts flow based on encountered resistance, resulting in increased productivity.
