Powertrain and Design

The Isuzu AA-6SD1XQB engine delivers 316 hp (235 kW) and has a displacement of 600 in³ (9839 cc), featuring a turbocharged 6-cylinder design. It operates on diesel fuel, with an electronically controlled fuel injection system and liquid cooling. This engine meets Tier II certification and achieves a maximum torque of 940 lb·ft (1275 N·m) at 1600 rpm.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

The undercarriage includes 2 upper rollers and 9 lower rollers per track. The hydraulic system features two pumps with a maximum flow rate of 2 x 95.1 gpm (360 L/min) and a standard operating pressure of 31.4 MPa. The hydraulic controls are governed by pilot-operated valves, ensuring precise operation of the machine. Additionally, anti-drift valves are included for the boom and arm.

Operating Parameters

The CX460 with an 11 ft 1 in (3.38 m) arm has an operating weight of 101,257 lb (45,929 kg). It can reach a maximum digging depth of 25 ft 4 in (7.72 m) and a digging reach of 38 ft 7 in (11.77 m) at ground level. The vertical reach is 25 ft 5 in (7.74 m) when excavating.
