Powertrain and Design

The Case Family III 668TA/E2 engine is Tier II certified, featuring a turbocharged 4-stroke design with air cooling. This engine has 6 cylinders with a displacement of 6.8 L. It utilizes direct fuel injection and is equipped with a replaceable full-flow spin-on fuel filter alongside a dry-type air filter with a warning restriction indicator.

Undercarriage and Hydraulics

The drivetrain includes a 4F/3R transmission with proportional controls for electronic torque sensing and autoshift/manual shift capabilities. The axles feature limited slip differentials, providing efficient power distribution. Hydraulic systems employ a closed-center pressure/flow compensated design to ensure engine efficiency under various load conditions.

Operating Parameters

The engine produces a rated power of 181 HP (135 kW) at 2000 rpm and a maximum torque of 590 lb·ft (800 N·m). Its travel speeds, using 20.5x25 L3 tires, reach up to 23.6 mph (38 km/h) forward and 16 mph (25.7 km/h) in reverse. The loader has a lift capacity of up to 16,005 lb (7260 kg) at full height.

Optional Equipment

Optional features include a pressurized cabin equipped with air conditioning and heating systems as well as various hydraulic attachments. Different tire types and bucket configurations are available for specific tasks. Additional management systems may also be installed to enhance vehicle performance.
