Electric saws are tools for cutting wood that use electricity instead of gasoline or oil. They are often lighter and quieter than gas saws, making them more suitable for indoor work or near homes. Electric saws are available in two main types: chainsaws and band saws.

Chainsaws are most commonly used for cutting wood with a diameter of up to about 30 cm. They are lighter than gas saws and easier to handle.
Band saws, on the other hand, are used for cutting larger pieces of wood, often for producing boards or panels.

Electric saws are easier to handle and less burdensome for the user because they do not require refueling with fuel and oil. However, their range is limited by the length of the power cord.
